Housing Benefit Plus will be increased by an average of around 8 percent from January 2026. For each household, this is currently around 35 euros more per month; the monthly Housing Benefit Plus is therefore around 435 euros on average. The income thresholds and eligible rent were also increased further. Consequently, even more households will be able to apply for support, even if they were previously just above the income threshold.
